Kaden's 4th Birthday

We had a spidey time at Kaden's fourth bday. Spiderman showed up and jumped off of the roof!! We had a yummy cake, pizza and a huge inflatable slip and slide. Kaden had a great time! Thanks to everyone who made the day special and thank you to Trevor for all your help in making memories for my baby boy!

Labor Day Weekend

Well we had a nice relaxing weekend! Started the weekend with a back to school party at a friends house swimming. Enjoyed a night out with the neighbors hanging out chatting and watching the kids swim. Overall was a wonderful weekend. Wish my sister would have been here to celebrate her bday with us. But, overall can't complain a nice long weekend. Now to get the kids ready to go back to school tomorrow. :) A few weeks ago we went to the Cowboys stadium for an event for kids they were having and here is a pic of us all sitting on the famous star.

Back to School!

The kids are all back to school! Kyrin just started fifth grade and is loving it, Collin started second grade and is doing amazing and well Kaden started pre-k. The first day didn't go so good he screamed and cried and went crazy to the point we thought we would have to withdraw him from school. The second day a few tears and by the third day he was a champ. He walked into class, put up his bookbag and found a spot on the carpet.

This is a whole new world for us doing p re-k because Kyrin and Collin never went. But, he seems to love it and enjoys learning so we are very proud of him. Casidy is doing awesome and misses her Bobo during the day but, she enjoys the mommy and daddy attention she is getting.

Kevin received his Bachelors degree in the mail I am so proud of him. Two years ago when I told him he "was" going to school he got so upset and refused and said he didn't want to and it wasn't for him. Well I am proud to say two years later an Associates, and Bachelors completed both of which with great grades he has done it!!!!

We are now trying to find him a good job whether it be here in Texas or elsewhere. I really love it here and never want to leave but we have to do what we have to do. So hopefully God will answer my prayers and a job will open up here.

Life in the Barnes' house this week

Life this week has been crazy!!! Poor Kaden broke a tooth and has bad acid reflux so it is eroding his back teeth at the base. He is going to need a minor outpatient surgical procedure on Tuesday. They will be capping all four bottom teeth and possibly the top four. My poor little guy will be hurting for a few days, not looking forward to this.

I finally went to the doctor for back pain I have been having for some time and they are doing x-rays and an mri to try and figure it all out. Not looking forward to the results. The bloodwork was normal so that is a good thing!!

Kevin, and the other kiddos are doing great. We all went to a small water park this past week and had a blast. I love when we have fun family time together. It's those little times the kids will rememeber forever. Our next outing will be Putt Putt. We implemented a chore chart, and a behavior chart for Kaden. When they get 2 weeks worth of chores done, and Kaden has two weeks worth of good behavior they get to choose a family activity.

Hope everyone else is having a wonderful summer! Try and stay cool!

**FiReWoRkS*

Well another fourth of July has come and gone and we had a wonderful time. Kevin, the kids and I all went to the base to enjoy the festivities. They had bounce houses, rock wall, water slide and much more. I even let the kids play in the lake. Those of you who know me well know I would never personally go into a lake. EWWWW if you can't see your feet at the bottom, than you should not be in it. That is just my opinion! But, the kids had a blast even asking if they could go back and go swimming in it today. The fireworks were beautiful and being able to snuggle up with my family and watch them was the best.

Casidy's second Birthday

Wow, time really does fly. It seems like just last year we were home in Virginia having her first birthday. Our little Princess is now two years old! She had a Dora the Explorer birthday party (which is her new favorite show) which she picked out the decor for. She loved all the attention. We had some friends over and cooked out, and did presents and cake. She was spoiled rotten by everyone. Now time to plan Kaden's fourth birthday party!!!
P.S. I made her cake!!

The Sky is Bigger and Brighter over Texas!

Sometimes you just have to sit back and look up at the sky and take it all in. It is an amazing adventure of life that we are given. I was watching my children play in the field today at a friend's house it is so breathtaking seeing them enjoy the simple things in life. They are so in love with life. What happened to those innocent times when we were that way. Wouldn't life be just so much better if we all felt that way. I had a few minutes today where we just were sitting there making smores (with my kiddos) and it was just so simple. A few days ago we took a train ride through the trinity park, this was a fun family activity that was relaxing, simple and so much fun. I guess we are all watching as time just flies by and really need to take time to smell the roses.
